Why it's important

Domestic violence
is a serious crime.
According to a study by the National Institute
of Justice >>

You can't truly understand someone else's plight until you've walked a mile in his or her shoes.

On Sunday, May 4, you can show you understand by taking part in Walk A Mile In Her Shoes, presented by Verizon Wireless. Your participation benefits the domestic violence programs of Jewish Family Services, Sojourner Truth House and the Task Force on Family Violence.

This unique march invites members of the community to walk a mile in women's shoes (optional) to raise awareness and funds for programs that help those affected by rape, sexual assault and gender violence.

Verizon Wireless is a corporate leader in the fight against domestic violence. Click here to learn more about our HopeLine® program.
