Opportunities for Volunteers

 

There are many opportunities to provide hands-on assistance to ensure that Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a success! On Sunday, May 4, 2008 volunteer opportunities at the Marquette University Campus include:

Shoe Fitting Station 8am - 11am

  • Set-up shoe fitting area (arrange walk shoes by size)
  • Exchange walker shoes (street shoes for WAM shoes)

Shoe Fitting Station 10:30am - 1:30pm

  • Exchange walker shoes (WAM shoes for street shoes)
  • Pack-up WAM shoes after walk

Day of Walk Registration Table

  • Collect walker registration and pledge money
  • Runners: hand-out walker t-shirts

Food Station (both Breakfast and lunch)

  • Set-up/arrange donated food for walkers
  • Keep eating area picked-up/clean
  • Put away/pack-up leftovers

Team Picture Station (both shifts)

  • Work with photographer to organize teams signed up for photos

Volunteer Check-In

  • Check-in volunteers and direct them where to report

Tear Down/Clean-Up

  • Help move WAM items to staff cars, hang/remove signs
